PREAMBLE: LUCIFER AND HIS FALL

To grasp the events of the end times we need to understand the activity of Lucifer in the life and experiences of humanity. What are the prevailing concepts about the origin of Lucifer, his original mandate, his fall, the consequences of his fall, and how it relates to the failure of humanity? It is wrong to see Lucifer as a power or force opposing God or as a rouge angel who wants to usurp God’s throne. These are based on a poor concept of the Creator and His Creation and it is only with the granting of the Truth by the Son of Man that we now have full clarification. Lucifer (Satan, the Devil) is not however a myth as some will like to argue.

In the sacred literature of the revealed religions, Lucifer is designated with different names reflecting his dominant activity at any particular time. These should allow us to get a more comprehensive conception of his origin, personality, and activity. The name Lucifer describes his original status as one arising from the volition of an archangel, son of the morning, and one of the close servants of God. He was described by Ezekiel as the “prince of Tyre”, a reference to the then commercial center of the recognized earth, implying the “prince of the prosperous earth”. He was not evil from his origin for nothing coming from the proximity of God can go contrary to the Creative Will. He was shown to be beautiful, imperial; powerful beyond comprehension.

Original Form above Matter: Lucifer, the servant of God sent to Material Creation

Lucifer was sent into Subsequent Creation from the volition of an Archangel and so is often regarded as an archangel in Creation. He was sent out of the Love of the Creator to stalling, indolent human spirits in the distant worlds of Matter to bring them supportive Love. This was meant to awaken increased spiritual activity in them and redirect them to the Will of God in Creation.

Apart from personal development and maturity, the human spirit also had the mandate to bring upbuilding to the spheres of Matter. The major tool granted for this, with which the human spirit should work in Matter, is the intellect and thus a major part of the work of Lucifer was to guide human spirits in the use of the intellect. His work was to encompass the worlds of matter and so could only be achieved by his working from outside and radiating into the worlds of matter. His base for this activity was to be just above and outside the worlds of matter.

He is thus Divine substantiality in origin; from the substantiate servants of God in His immediate proximity, the Divine Realm. This mission of a Divine being sent to work within Creation with the spiritual in the lowest planes of Creation is unique and was never repeated. It was only surpassed by the sending of direct radiation from the Divine Unsubstantiality of God, first in Abd-ru-shin and later in Jesus. These latter missions were a consequence of Lucifer’s failure and the deepening enslavement of the human spirits.

It is important to understand that the Archangel did not descend from his plane of activity above Creation for this mission, but that it was his volition that took on form outside Subsequent Creation. However, his volition is him; radiation out of him that is one with him, yet still has an independent personality. If the volition completes its mission as is expected, it returns to the source to become one with it again. If, however, the volition fails, it is slowly detached from the source although it will for a long time remain connected. As such the weight of the failure will to some extent burden the source. Therefore, the volition retains all the attributes of the source, coarsened and densified, until the end when the Creative Will comes for judgment. Only then is the failed being completely severed from the pure source for eternal damnation.

A volition takes on form in its plane of activity, therefore Lucifer as such took on form below the original Spiritual Creation just outside Subsequent Creation. Being Divine in origin Lucifer combined in himself all the qualities of the beings in Creation. He combined in himself very high substantiality and the highest spirituality. Because of his high substantiality, he should not have expressed a contrary will.

The fall of Lucifer.

But in Subsequent Creation, far from the immediate proximity of God Lucifer, the volition of an archangel developed a wrong principle, the principle of temptation that directs towards intellectual over-cultivation and so binds to Matter. The Lucifer principle stands in opposition to the Christ principle (hence anti-Christ) indicating that the Lucifer principle is a distortion of Love. The Christ principle, the Love from the Father brings spiritual awakening from indolence for the human spirits, which directs us once more to the Will of God.

Initially, Lucifer radiated supportive spiritual power waves to the human spirits all over Subsequent Creation in obedience to the Will of the Creator. Everything was moving in the Will of God, but over time, as described by both Isaiah and Ezekiel (Ezekiel 28, Isaiah 14:12-), pride arose in him. This probably did not arise instantaneously but progressively. His radiation, which was to carry the warmth of supportive Love subtly changed to more self-serving radiation. This was captured in the Bible in Ezekiel’s allegorical denouncement of the Prince of Tyre.

In chapter 27, Ezekiel raised a lament against Tyre. At this time Tyre was the greatest seaport in the world and through it, the wealth of the Nations flowed. It was the hub of material wealth. In this allegory, it was evident that Tyre was meant to represent the gateway and the wealth of the material planes and not just a small seaside town, and the prince of Tyre was meant to represent the power behind material successes.

In chapter 28, Ezekiel took up this prophetic denouncement against Lucifer who as the steering force in Matter he represented as the Prince of Tyre. He traces the path of Lucifer from his origin to his fall.
“…take up a lament concerning the king of Tyre and say to him: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: carnelian, chrysolite, and emerald, topaz, onyx and jasper, lapis lazuli, turquoise and beryl. Your settings and mountings were made of gold; on the day you were created they were prepared. You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you. You were on the holy mount of God; you walked among the fiery stones. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was found in you.
Through your widespread trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you, guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones. Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor.
So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings. By your many sins and dishonest trade you have desecrated your sanctuaries.
So I made a fire come out from you, and it consumed you, and I reduced you to ashes on the ground in the sight of all who were watching.” Excerpt from the Bible. Ezekiel 28:12-18 NIV

Although the change in Lucifer’s radiation was subtle in that those that are strong are still supported, the weak no longer received the support they needed. This represents a distancing from the Will of the Almighty. This emphasizes important lessons for all of us. First, no matter how high or developed a being is, it can never understand or oversee the wisdom of the Creator. Lucifer decided he knew what was best instead of simply carrying on his mandate. Second, every single deviation no matter how small from the Will of God carries serious, sometimes irredeemable consequences. Unless one repents and changes direction in time, he is bound to distance himself further and further until the possibility of a return to the normal path becomes impossible.

Lucifer’s fall lay in the introduction of the principle of temptation in place of supportive Love. The weaker human spirits moved into greater spiritual indolence and embraced more firmly the cultivation of the intellect, which had already bloomed in the period when Lucifer’s radiation had been supportive. This does not imply that the human spirits had to fall to the temptations of Lucifer. They could easily have resisted because they had a volition of their own.

There is an important distinction between the failure of human spirits and the failure of Lucifer. Each stands on its own and the habit of many human spirits to blame Lucifer for all their mistakes is merely an attempt to evade responsibility. Lucifer failed by straying from the Will of God and human spirits, who also had the ability to decide, chose to follow his lead. According to the Grail Message:  “His wrong volition then brought evil upon everything spiritual in the World of Matter, which at first felt attracted by him and then voluntarily succumbed to his enticements. Of their own free will, because, in accordance with the Law in Creation, the human spirits themselves had to make the decision leading to their fall! Without their own decision to do so, it would have been impossible for them to sink and now consequently to fall.” Excerpt From In the Light of Truth by Abd-ru-shin. Lecture Substantiality III-24

Being the originator of the wrong principle, the failed ones had to also cling to or remain connected with Lucifer. His fall became ever deeper and his radiation, less and less supportive, and over time more and more of humanity inclined to intellectuality. He was still anchored at his place of activity, outside Creation proper and above subsequent Creation; At the level of origin and activity of the developing and developed human spirits. As such he was also able to poison the activity of the best of the developed human spirits who had emerged from matter. The failure of human spirits as a species has been likened to an open draining wound, because the stream of spirit seed grain flowing into the world of matter, in most cases, never returned.

Lucifer’s fall deepened even more as he learned to feel disgust, and perhaps even hatred for his victims who thereby made his path difficult. As contrary volition increased in him, so did he, systematically in keeping with the Laws, lose higher substantiality, and consequently he became denser. Of course, one does not lose what he intrinsically is but the part he does not use atrophies. In effect, Lucifer lost substantiality thereby becoming more densely spiritual. Eventually, he was cast down from the planes above matter (see below) to the plane now consistent with his density, under the world of Matter as the strongest, densest spirit.

The Grail Message explains the path of Lucifer in Subsequent Creation. “Likewise it was owing only to the ever-increasing distance that Lucifer was able long ago to change, and through his wilfulness to cut himself off from the connection, thereby automatically opening up chasms which in time became unbridgeable, so that he himself became darker and heavier and sank ever deeper. Thus in the process of densification and cooling off, he became a spirit possessing free volition, and with the great capacities bestowed upon him by his origin, he finally stood under the World of Matter as the strongest spirit.” Excerpt From In the Light of Truth. Thus, Lucifer transitioned from a high Divine being above Subsequent Creation, with the ability to connect with the highest Divine Sphere, through a dense spiritual being in dark ethereal matter to the densest spiritual being in the deepest darkness outside Subsequent Creation.
