THE WILL OF GOD IN CREATION III

Our goal should be to establish the Will of our God in our world and in our time.

Furthering Creation

The necessity to have to struggle to learn and adjust to the Will of God in Creation, which should enable us to return home, is because of our failure as spiritual beings. If human spirits have lived aright, have followed the God ordained path for us, have listened to the language that our Creator speaks to us through His Creation, we would have recognised the Will as a matter of course. The goal of maturity in the Will was meant to be an automatic outcome of living and swinging in the rhythm of Creation.

Our actual mandate in Subsequent Creation is to serve the Will of God thereby furthering Creation. This is the mandate to subdue the earth recorded in the Bible. And we are meant to achieve this even while in the Worlds of Matter. We should not be struggling just to adjust to the Will of God in Creation, but should already be furthering Creation by our activities. Our volition to serve our Creator should have become deed.

Furthering the Will of God is not a passive state where we wait for the Will of the Creator to be imposed, for if this were so we will not need to exist as conscious beings with a personal free will to choose. Therefore, it is not right to meekly affirm, “Let thy Will be done”, if this is meant to imply that we piously await God’s Will. This implied passivity is really something alien to our nature as spiritual beings who have been created with the urge and the capability to act creatively. The only way a human spirit can genuinely express the wish for the Will of God to be done is by active participatory decision – going out there to do it. Let thy Will be done should express our prompt willingness to do the Will of God. It should be the expression of a mobile spirit on its way; otherwise, the apparent humility in the expression is mere hypocrisy.

No matter how piously expressed, if we do not act but just fold our hands and wait, we can never achieve fulfilment. How do we think His kingdom will be established on earth when we, who have been given the mandate to do so refuse to act, or as has happened with the majority of human spirits, even act contrary to the expressed Will of God?  That the dominion over the material spheres has been given to man and not to other beings of creation shows unequivocally that it is for us to establish the Will of God as paramount here on earth. If we fail in this, we would have failed in fully achieving the purpose of our existence, and of course ultimately the Will of God which transcends everything will still be established in spite of us. But then we become useless weed, lacking the necessary maturity and level of consciousness to return home.

We are the bearers of the spirit from God in Material Creation and wherever we allow the spirit to express itself, there we will find our Loving God – even in dark, difficult circumstances. It is within our decision therefore to use our experiences and the recognition of the immanent Creator to change our world and our circumstances.

Furthering Creation is an intrinsic movement within the spirit, that must be distinguished from the attempts to mould Creation through intellectual sophistry.  Spiritual upbuilding in Creation is always in subjection to the Will of God while intellectual moulding conforms to the will of man.  It is a misconception to think that the apparently great achievements humanity has made through our sciences and cultures represent the height of human potential. A spiritual direction would have achieved infinitely more, but differently; and more harmoniously and beautifully formed. We must look deeply, beyond the superficial, for more lasting values in any experience and in life.

If we keep the consciousness of our Creator ever foremost, we can never go wrong and will never be broken. We are not required to carry the name of God on our lips at all times or to hypocritically impose our faith on others even by suggestive behaviour, but that our volition, thoughts and actions be permeated by the consciousness of His Omnipresence. All we need to do is to remain ever alert, always conscious of His presence and His Power to mediate on our behalf in all circumstances.

We must stand out as true human beings, for not all who bear the human form may be regarded as human beings, but only those who strive to live in the Will of God. We may work at the same job as others; we may in fact and often are especially targeted for persecution and ridicule, purely because they sense a difference. We may in our own esteem even feel that we are functioning below our capacity and that we have more to offer; but under all these pressures, if we carry the consciousness of our ever-present God within us, we remain in peace. Ultimately when things are weighed in the true scales, our perseverance and endurance yield much fruit of lasting value.

The most important key is that our root must be in the Ethereal, beyond the gross materially obvious. We must experience life on earth while rooted in the higher, finer spheres; we must understand how things are in the Ethereal, outside this gross materiality. We must see the Laws of Creation unfolding before us in all things. Each time we sow a seed in Creation for instance, we should try to follow its progress to maturity – try to see the process of the substantiate, unseen servants of God taken it up, its automatic progression by attracting similar seed to produce multiples. See how the law of homogeneity, law of cycle and law of gravity all come into it and not miss the lesson of the weight or lightness on your spirit. Try to do this with as many experiences as possible.

Everything is bound within the Laws that manifest the Will of our God to us every second of every minute of our existence. Abundant help to achieve surround us in the gift of the word from God, the automatic help from threads of Light above us and the structured help in hours of worship and prayers. Within physical materiality, homogenous human spirits and groups also afford support and hence we have been admonished to wash each other’s feet.

The darkness and the world system will, however, not release us from their embrace without a fight. But in the recognition of this fact lies also its solution. The power that flows to the spirit that turns to God in sincerity and in humble prayer is immense. Moreover, the lure of the darkness has its strength only in temptation. Because it has no intrinsic power, a good volition held in sincerity suffices to sweep a host, an army of them into oblivion. The mainstay of the success of temptation over seekers and genuine believers lies in its persistence. Temptations come over and over in various forms and shapes. We are even tempted to the same fault in so many varied ways that often we think we have overcome one fault when actually we indulge it in different forms.

There is a lesson to learn from this: – a good volition must also be persevering. The Lord Jesus emphasised this in many of His teachings. The service of God should be all encompassing, consuming all of our being. We must give all we have, our abilities and talents both spiritual and material, indeed all of our self in the pursuit of God.

This is not asking too much. Those who seek material gains and servants of the darkness give much more, for Satan is a hard taskmaster. To stand and experience perpetually in the presence of God should be the sum of our ambitions, the hub of our activities. It is like a man, says the Lord Jesus, who is seeking a great treasure and who on finding it, sells everything that he has i.e., gives up all that he had and commits all to that treasure.

If we could only understand the nature of our real being, it will become clear to us that it is impossible to have a divided interest where obedience to the Will of God is concerned. The spirit knows no other goal than Paradise, no other way than the path indicated in the Will of God. It may ignore the goal and enslave itself in Matter out of a personal choice, but in so doing it loses its freedom and is no longer of full value.

Open yourself to the presence of God in your life. Listen to His ever-present voice calling us home; Experience in an intuitively alert, humble and pure manner, like the child of Creation, which we all are. Listen to the word of God, which He has also sent through His prophets and Messengers. Do not limit yourselves by man-made barriers called religious groups, sects or denominations. Wherever you hear His voice, hearken to It! His word alone is Holy, not the men who received it and documented it, not the books in which the revelations and the spiritual experiences of men are documented nor the literary form of the documentation.

The rock on which our existence as conscious beings is built is the consciousness that God is here, accessible to us in His Will! This is the assurance of our faith, the victorious conviction that lifts the spirit above the mundane to a living consciousness of the Kingdom. And even when we are oppressed, when we are burdened by our failures and when weaknesses or temptations overwhelm us, the knowledge that He is ever with us, that He is in control comforts us and enables us to victory. This peace cannot be found outside the protective mantle of His Love and Mercy.

The blessing of Omnipresence is a covenant between God and His Creation that permits us to reawaken in the experiencing and enables us to retrace our steps. Omnipresence means that God is accessible in everything and to everyone through His Will that manifests in the ordinance of Creation. Once the spirit is separated from the conscious experiencing of the presence of God, he or she slowly but inexorably descends to the Hell that has been prepared for and by the dissidents themselves.

The perpetual awareness of an ever-present God does not require that we live in a mystique self-complacency or in perpetual meditation in hermit-like resorts. On the contrary, the God conscious man is logically, the most practical of human beings, capable of coping with any circumstance. He pursues his daily experiences at work, at home, at leisure and with his neighbours both friends and foes, with the confidence that these are but stepping stones to a higher consciousness.

The glory of the experiencing of Omnipresence is the perpetual consciousness that God is here!  We become capable of recognising His Love in all circumstances, in all needs, in joy and in sorrow, in sickness and in health; as much in the horrors of the city ghettos as in the pure beauty of untamed nature. And in all these varied experiences we have an indwelling peace and assurance of providence. “Behold, says the Lord, I am with you always”

CONCLUSION

We may not always be aware of it, but our individual volition weighs heavily in the scale of world events. Even the least individual in the human family is of immense importance in the balance of events and it is as individuals that the Love of God relates to us. Thus, even the most despised human being has an important place, if he will only remain or seek connection to the Light. This is why it is a matter of such great joy in heaven when one lost sheep is found. If as an individual, each one of us were to aspire and endeavour to live in the consciousness of an ever-present Lord, the whole will be healed in no time. This is the logical consequence of the Law of attraction of Homogenous species.

Thus, we should not despair because of our neighbour or even wait on him to change, but must start immediately with ourselves. If we really begin to live in the Will of God, which embraces and surrounds us, we will indeed see the Power of God in our lives. Our inner-selves will slowly or rapidly change depending on the strength of our volition and actions and automatically so will our environment and circumstances, including our neighbours. Therefore, we should not worry about the next man but set about with all haste to seek the face of the Lord, whose immanence will sustain and uphold us.

The Lord Jesus succinctly, yet simply expressed this profound need for us to seek within ourselves for the problems around us when He admonished us to avoid trying to remove the speck in our brother’s eyes before attending to the bigger one in our own eyes. “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye”. We must seek the fault and overcome it in ourselves before we can expect others around us to change. The Grail message admonishes the same in profound wisdom.

We must never let the mundane nature of our daily activities lull us into indifference or boredom. This happens either because we seek beyond our absolutely necessary experiencing for material advantages we do not really need, or because we envy others. Our daily employment no matter how humble, mundane or boring is our unique arena for ultimate stardom or abject failure. We must strive to excel in all that we are permitted to do, excellence defined in terms of conformity with the Will of God. We must remember that His Loving Will is immanent in all things and that therefore whatever we experience is within His granting. In all activities and challenges we should recognise the Will of God.

Irrespective of the difficulties and the challenges, our circumstance must be seen as a great help, lovingly structured to provide us with the best opportunity to recognise our spiritual goal, fulfil our destiny and shine like bright lights in the vast work of Creation.

Once we turn to God and live in the consciousness of His Eternal presence, earthly cares and worries fall off our shoulders. Temptations will come, sorrows will come, friction with the world will be there, hunger, thirst, illness, cold and heat will be there; but their burden is lost. Even death loses its sting as the saying goes. Peace and bliss become our portion. Earthly wealth and consequence become mere adornments to use to the glory of God if we have them or that less weight to log around if we lack them.

But above all, the glory of His presence surrounds us!

Rejoice in the processes of life and its apparent difficulties as well as in its many joyful moments. Give glory to the Almighty who has offered us this possibility to relate to Him. Open yourselves to His all-embracing protective Love!

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty… If you make the Most High your dwelling – even the Lord who is my refuge – then no harm will befall you and no disaster will come near your tent”.
