END OF THE AGES 2

THE FORMS OF FAILURE OF LUCIFER: THE SATANIC BEASTS

The forms used to describe Lucifer in the revelation and indeed the whole bible, are forms describing his volition and activity in the various planes. The forms reflect his personality depending on his activity and the plane of that activity, and therefore the forms change as his activity changes.  Lucifer was meant to be “one who brings the light” but the path of his activities made him “one who has separated himself from the Light” and his forms in the planes of Matter reflect this. Initially, he was described as the anointed Cherub (Ezekiel), but with his distancing himself from the Will of God the form first changed to that of the Dragon or Serpent denoting the bringer of the false principle of temptation instead of supportive love. Subsequent forms like the Beast from the sea show the same personality in different planes of Matter.

Apart from forms describing his personality, Lucifer is also commonly designated to reflect the human perception of his activity. Thus, he is referred to as the Devil (Greek), or Satan (Hebrew) both meaning to oppose or act as an adversary. The names also mean Tempter, the one that misleads. These names, like other names such as the fallen star, Wormwood, Abaddon/Apollyon, and Anti-Christ, are descriptive of Lucifer’s predominant activity but not his form or person. They refer to Lucifer after his failure, irrespective of the level of Creation or the state of his fall.

The distancing of Lucifer from the Will of the Almighty is progressive and with each further, deeper fall, his form also had to change as does our perception of him.

1. The Dragon

Following his initial fall, while still in the planes above Subsequent Creation (see the previous blog), Lucifer was described as the red Dragon (that original serpent) – All the power and authority of an archangel deformed into a powerful beast with the color of failure.

The symbolism in the description of the form of the Dragon is profound, for the form at all times describes the being completely in its activity“Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads. Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth.” (Revelation 12:3-4 NIV). The seven heads indicate that he was given authority to guide the development of human spirits in the seven world parts of Subsequent Creation. That each head wears a crown of royalty (Greek Diadem) shows that he already claims sovereignty over these world parts even at this stage and that he is no longer in the more luminous spheres, nearer the proximity of the Almighty. Horn is the symbol of strength or authority. The ten horns of the dragon show that he has complete dominion over human activities within the World of Matter (ten symbolizing completeness). This transitional form is also often described as a serpent partly because of the principle of temptation he espouses with serpentine (intellectual) sagacity.

As discussed in the earlier blog, Lucifer started his mission as one of the substantiate servants of God and continued as such until his failure brought a change in his personality, inevitably so because the activity of any being determines its form. The dragon indicates the form of this failure and that he is no longer one of the substantiate servants of God who serve without a personal will. The color red is used throughout the revelation to indicate failure. Initially, the dragon still retained some influence, or better said could still sense activity right up to his origin. This is in keeping with the Laws of God in Creation as is also apparent with the human spirits, who can sometimes sense up to their spiritual origin even while on earth.  This ability to sense events up to his origin made it possible for the dragon to attempt to oppose the Primordial Mother (rev 12).

Slowly as he distanced himself more from higher substantiality due to his contrary activity, he retained more spirituality in his activity. As he became more wilfully spiritual in his activity, he became more densely spiritual in essence, sinking deeper and further away from the Light, his origin. According to the revelation the attempt to oppose the coming of the Son of Man resulted in his further ultimate fall and he was ejected completely from the more luminous spheres. “The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth and his angels with him.” Revelation 12:9-10 NIV. Although this was described as a war in heaven that culminated in the overthrow of the dragon, this is not an actual war in the sense of wars in material creation. It is the automatic consequence of his wrong activities and increasing density resulting in a distancing from the proximity of the Light. It is the automatic effect of the Laws of Creation enforced by the Substantiate servants of God in all planes of Creation. It is instructive that this cutting off of Lucifer from planes above subsequent creation was led by the Archangel Michael.

In Ezekiel’s vision, the casting down of Lucifer was also clearly described – “So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you, guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones. Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So, I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings. By your many sins and dishonest trade, you have desecrated your sanctuaries” Ezekiel 28:16-18.

This event marked the transition of Lucifer’s activity from above Matter to activity limited within and below the World of Matter. With this change in activity, his form also had to change. The new form arose automatically, as a volition of the dragon, within the finest part of the World of Matter, allegorically described as the sea. (Rev 13:1). The dragon gave this beast all its power, its throne, and its authority.  This form is the Beast from the Sea.

2. The Beast from the Sea

The dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority. One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed” (Rev.13:1-3).

The dragon following his overthrow cannot and did not enter Matter as such but stood just outside Matter at the edge or shores of ethereal Matter (the sea). From this plane, into which he has been ejected, he continues to radiate into the Subsequent Creation. The dragon realizes that his time to influence human spirits is now limited and according to the revelation, he also had great anger. In other to achieve his purpose he now sends his volition into the earth, into the finer or ethereal planes, usually described in the revelation as the sea. The description of events from revelation 13:1 onwards is focused on Ephesus, our world part of Subsequent Creation. Our earth, as the last anchorage of the Light in the Material Spheres, is where the battle between the Light and the Darkness will be resolved.

Thus, we next see the dragon’s volition or envoy arising within ethereal Matter, the sea, as the beast from the sea. Satan is no longer outside Matter, radiating into Matter, but is now present in and operating from within the World of Matter, although in the dark ethereal planes. He is no longer the fiery dragon, but still carries the same power – all the authority and influence of the dragon, but now only operating within Matter. The crowns however are now on the ten horns, although in the dragon they were on the seven heads. This shows complete authority over this material plane, no longer over the seven world parts. Nevertheless, it retains the seven heads of the dragon indicating that it represents the dragon. John confirms this by stating that “The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority”.

Satan is now more earthy and is described as a Leopard with the feet of a bear and a mouth like a lion. This description parallels and combines the characteristics of the four beasts revealed to Daniel (Dan 7). All four of Daniel’s beasts arise from the sea. The first beast of Daniel had teeth like Lion, the second had feet like a bear, the third resembled a leopard and the fourth had ten horns. These characteristics are all embodied in the beast from the sea of revelation (Rev. 13:2).

The beasts in Daniel were interpreted to represent various kingdoms that influenced or would influence the world system. In the beast of revelation, therefore, we see the combination of the powers, i.e., the source of the powers that control the world systems. The Beast from the sea has complete authority over the earth and its kingdoms and civilizations. Its influence also extends over the seven world parts of Subsequent Creation through its origin in the Dragon (it still has seven heads) and it wields great authority over the entire World of Matter. This beast cannot, therefore, be interpreted to represent a Roman Emperor.

Lucifer has been cast completely out of the eternal home and he fights for a home in a world of darkness he hopes to lead eternally. The fallen Dragon just outside matter on the shores of the ethereal sea (Rev 13:1-3), was also referred to by John as a ‘star blazing like a torch ‘ that fell from the sky (Rev 8:10-11). The fall or ejection from above Subsequent Creation corresponded to the period of the third trumpet resulting in an intensification of temptations that turned the radiations of human spiritual striving bitter. This activity was given the name Wormwood implying subtle tempter with a devious tongue.

The fourth trumpet was a transition trumpet when events became focused on Ephesus. Thereafter the events intensified into woes because the manifestation of the Son of Man was imminent (Rev. 8:13). By the fifth trumpet (the first woe) the activity had so intensified that Satan, now the Beast from the sea, is described as wielding the key to the abyss, with the power to unleash demonic beings on fallen human beings (Rev 9:1-12). From just temptations and subtle misleading suggestions, he changes into a being bent on destruction (Abaddon or Apollyon the destroyer). The fallen star has sunk deeper into ethereal darkness, below the planes of gross matter to become the king of the Abyss (Rev 9:1-11). However, his time of activity is now also markedly restricted because the manifestation of the Son of Man who will bind him in the Abyss is imminent.

The Beast from the sea has a wound that should have been fatal on one of its heads but the wound has healed. This wound was inflicted by the sword of Truth (Rev.13:14). Such a sword could only be wielded by an Envoy of God. It is the work of the Son of God, Jesus that inflicted this wound that should have been fatal, but human choices allowed the Beast not only to survive but to become even more powerful. This Beast represents the peak of Satan’s dominance of the World of Matter. It is the active form of Satan when the Son of Man came into His Mission and the form of Satan that was bound in the abyss. The descriptive name for the Beast from the Sea at the peak of its power over humanity is Abaddon or Apollyon, the destroyer.

The Judgment of the World of Matter by the Son of Man starts with His binding Satan in the Abyss. This was described as a personal confrontation. The Envoy of God wrestled the key from Satan, cast him into the abyss, and locked or bound him therein. The binding of Satan in the Abyss meant that his direct activity in the World had been cut off. However, human spirits who are already strongly under Satan’s influence, led by their corporate volition that had taken on the form of the False Prophet, raised an image of Satan which they empowered in their free volition and continued to worship. This image is described further on in the revelation as the scarlet beast. Although Satan has been bound for the Millennium, the activities of the darkness are maintained by Lucifers satellites, particularly the False prophet (the beast from the earth) and the image it gave rise to as we will discuss in the next blog.

In the work of the Creator, in the entire Creation, everything is Light and good without any evil or darkness. Darkness arose in the planes of Matter from the activity of fallen human spirits under the influence of Lucifer. They used the pure Neutral Power of the Creator to produce forms that are contrary to the Will of God in Creation.

In this epoch, at the end of the ages, the demarcation between the activity of Light and Life and that of Darkness and death led by the Beast is sharply drawn. Human spirits who must experience in the World of Matter must either align to the Will of God and strive in the planes of Light or succumb to the wiles of Lucifer and dwell in the regions of Darkness and damnation. From the Grail Message, we learn that “It is only in the World of Matter that the effects of the Light and the effects of the Darkness, the two opposing principles, meet with one another and constantly influence the human soul while it is developing on its journey through the World of Matter.” There is now no more time for a slow maturing of the human spirits. We can no longer depend on others or the churches, nor can redemption be achieved by mere belief. We must recognize, accept and live the Will of God.

The Grail Message also tells us that “The gulf which lies between Light and Darkness is immense. It is filled by that part of Creation called the World of Matter, which is subject to the transient nature of the forms, that is, to the disintegration of the forms existing at the time and to a subsequent reconstruction.” (Excerpt From ‘In the Light of Truth’ by Abd-ru-shin. Lecture: The Mystery of Lucifer II-35). The so-called battle between the Light and darkness is fought on the planes of Matter and for the soul of humanity. The final choice remains within our freedom of decision, our free will. We must decide either for the Light and God’s Envoy or the Darkness and satellites of Lucifer!

All the forms of Lucifer within the material spheres and below are shaped as the beast from the sea. Ultimately, Lucifer is judged in all his forms of activity and separated from the eternal Source of power and Light that is God. This process of eternal damnation has been described as being cast into an eternal lake of sulphuric fire of unimaginable intensity. The fate of all failed eternal beings, including human spirits that have attached themselves to Lucifer, is similar but each is judged according to its origin.
