The Son of God and The Son of Man
The Revelation is clear that Jesus, the bringer of Salvation is a different manifestation of God in Creation from the Son of Man, the bringer of the Judgment, and that the end time is the time of the Son of Man. The Son of Man as the Judge from God must be distinguished from the Son of God, who cam as the Love of God. At the same time, we must recognize that Love and Justice are inseparably One in God. The activity in which the part out of God manifests to us determines how we recognize Him, for a tree is recognized by its fruit; and the correct recognition is critical if we are to benefit from the Grace.
The personality that manifests to us in His activity as the Love of God represents a different personality from He, who manifests as the Creative Will of God, Justice. Because the Love of God came as direct radiation part from God the Father and must return to the Father, He remains the Son of God, the in-born Son. The Creative Will of God, the third person of the Trinity is also direct radiation from the Father but is eternally anchored at the summit of Creation to bring into being and eternally sustain Creation. He can therefore not be withdrawn into the Father otherwise Creation will wither away. He thus remains as the out-born Son, the Son that is given to Creation the home of the spiritual beings (man), hence the specific name the Son of Man.
We must distinguish between the mundane/common use of the designation, son of man and son of God, from the application of the name to manifestations of God in His Creation. Angels in the scriptures are called sons of God but these are not the Son of God. Also, Human spirits that accept and live the word of Jesus are referred to as sons and daughters of God but these are not the Son of God. We must understand when these common usages apply and when the name Son of God is applied to an incarnation of the Love of God. The Son of God has a specific activity, which inclines towards Creation at need, whenever Divine Love must intervene.
The same scriptures apply the term son of man to any human being. Isaiah, Ezekiel, even Jesus when described outside His role as an incarnation out of the Love of God, i.e., when described in a mundane way, were all described as sons of man and so we must distinguish when the name is used in this common sense and when applied to a specific incarnation of an embodiment of the Holy Spirit of God. Man, generically represents spiritual beings in Subsequent Creation. The part (Son) out of God eternally connected with the coming into being and sustenance of Man in Creation is the Son of God giving for Man, hence the specific name the Son of Man. He has specific activity as part of God eternally connected with Creation, the origin and home of Man.
The Love of God remains eternally with the Father, but the part (Son) out of God given to Creation in Love, to save Creation, has the specific name the Son of God. At the completion of His mission, He must return to the Father, as the Son that remains with God, figuratively described as sitting at the right hand of God.
While both are Envoys of God, Jesus came to earth as the Love of God incarnate, direct from the Father, and therefore had to return to the Father after His Mission. The Son of Man incarnate on earth is a volition of the third person of the Trinity, Imanuel, who as the Holy Spirit is anchored perpetually just above Creation as the Creative Will of God. The Son of Man therefore cannot return to the Father without Creation being deprived of sustaining Radiation from God.
At the extreme need of Subsequent Creation, when human failure had allowed the darkness to enclose Material Creation, God consummated the greatest act of Love imaginable, the scope of which we have not been able to understand. He sent a part out of Himself, a volition out of His Love as help to humanity. This Divine Unsubstantiate part from God, One in the Father with the Creative Will, God from God and Light from Light, took on form in Matter, as a man amongst men. While His essence remained Divine Unsubstantiate, His cloak or covering from the various planes of Creation down to this dense Material part of Creation were the same as that of any other man. In stepping into Creation, He naturally became subject to the Laws of God in Creation, even though these Laws and the whole of Creation originated from Him as One with God. He came to save the World from the threat of disintegration and so He came with the name Jesus, meaning Saviour.
This new relationship of God with Creation arising with His incarnation made Jesus the Son of God in Creation. The Son sent to humanity entirely in a supportive and helping role, as Love; just as earlier, part of the Creative Will of God was given to Creation and mankind as the Justice and Power of God and is regarded as the Son of Man, the Holy Spirit. Both the Creative Will of God and the Love of God had always existed in God from all eternity but they become personal for us when the Father sends them forth for our sustenance and help. The gift of the Creative Will as the Holy Spirit was connected with Creation for eternity. If God were ever to withdraw His Holy Spirit from Creation, everything that exists will wither away and die.
Although the part out of the Love of God was sent as an emergency act of mercy and on completion of His Mission had withdrawn back to the Father, the Love anchored thereby in Creation remained connected with Creation and we can eternally relate personally with Him. Even after His return to become One again with the Father, the Son of God remains connected with Creation but no longer directly. The individual who imbibes and lives His word has received His essence i.e., has eaten His flesh and drank His blood; he has entered into an eternal covenant that makes the Lord, Jesus always accessible. Out of this experiencing, humanity came to a recognition of the Trinity of the One God.
The grace of Jesus’s incarnation enables us to connect with the Love of God for all eternity, as long as we continue to live according to the Will of His Father. It may be said that the Love of God now inclines more strongly and directly to support us and we have easier access to this support, but Jesus as an embodiment of the Love of God has returned to His Father and we will never see Him as such again. Salvation is anchored in His Word in Creation for all those who hear and obey. The Grace of His coming lies in His essence which is Light and Life from God and in His Word which is the way and the Truth but not in His blood, shed on the cross. He is now again in the Father and with the Father as it was in the beginning, with the difference that we now know Him and know of Him and can relate with Him.
The third person of the Trinity, eternally One in God and with God, is His Creative Will. Just like His Love, the Creative Will is personal, and while inseparable from the Father is distinguishable as support for the Creations. God Is, Unsubstantiate, unique, and One. The Father out of whom everything flows. His activity towards His Creation is within Him as His Love and His Creative Will, which are, however, personal from all eternity.
The Creative Will, the Holy Spirit, came into personal activity with the Creative Fiat “let there be Light”. This is inherent in the name Imanuel, meaning God with us (the Creation). Imanuel remains in the Father but the part of Imanuel anchored at the extreme boundary of the Divine sphere to bring Creation into existence remains eternally linked with Creation for Creation to be sustained. This part out of God that is given eternally for the Creations to exist is the part of God given for Man or the Son of Man. The Son of Man is also called the Holy Spirit, and the Creation that arose out of His volition is called the Spiritual Creation and the beings therein spirits.
The Bible hints at this in its opening verses in Genesis 1, when it says that with the Fiat, let there be Light, the Spirit of God hovered over the void to bring Creation into existence. Thus, the Son of Man remains at the summit of Creation as King over Creation and the promise is that at the end, He will manifest in Creation to Judge Creation. Christ’s intervention made it possible that He manifests in two roles – the originally intended role as the Judge but before bringing the judgment, He will first, as the Comforter, the Spirit of Truth, give the Truth to the Whole World. He will bring the message or gospel of the kingdom that will be given to the whole world before the end can come1; the message that permits us a chance to still awaken and attain salvation.
We can all understand that the Son of God cannot at the same time be the Son of Man but we must be clear about who or what the Son of Man represents2. Imanuel is the Son of God given to Creation, to Man, for the coming into being and sustenance of the Creations, hence God with us. The Son of Man is another name for the part of Imanuel eternally anchored at the outer boundary of the Divine Spheres, at the summit of Creation, to bring Creation into existence. It is therefore also understandable that the Envoy from God that will bring Judgment leading to upliftment or disintegration for any part of Creation that fails will be from the Son of Man.
The circle of spiritual movement in the World, in Subsequent Creation, since the time of Jesus is directed towards recognizing the Son of Man when He comes. For us human spirits this recognition will depend on the alertness of our intuitive movement as the Lord, Jesus warned in many parables. Only those with oil in their lamp will do so. Amid world-changing pressures, the majority of us have become indolent and materialistic; even allowing spiritual highwaymen to steal our hope of salvation. Those who seek enlightenment, are misguided by false and hypocritical leaders.
For the rest of Material Creation, things are different. Nature and Nature beings have already adapted to the Will of God as is inherent in them and so have automatically recognized and welcomed Him. This is part of the reason for all the upheaval in Nature in this epoch because the activity of the substantiate elemental beings are now directed exclusively in line with the pressure of the Will of God. Everything, including the works of men, their social order, their corporate intellectual excellence, and their belief in the power of money; all the props that support human pride and opposition to the Will of God will collapse.
